Bantam AA win Ft. Collins Tournament!

The Bantam AA team won the Ft. Collins Tournament over the Thanksgiving Holiday.  Making the win all the more special was the team's dedication to winning the tournament to a fellow Hockey Mom facing Breast Cancer.  The team wore pink ties all weekend and brought home the championship trophy to her.

Peewee B Blue take 2nd in Vail Tournament

November 21-23, the Peewee B Blue team participated in the Vail Tournament.  Six games in three days produced 5 wins and 1 loss (in the championship game).  The team played hard and came home with a 2nd place trophy.

Peewee B Blue wins Steamboat Tournament

FHA PeeWee B Blue competed in Steamboat the weekend of Oct 31-Nov 2 and returned the Champions of the Jim Fournier Memorial Hockey Tournament. The Flyers won the tournament with a record of 4 wins and 0 losses including a 4-1 victory over a tough Northern Colorado Junior Eagles team in the championship game Sunday morning. CCYHL rivals Highland Hills Tigers were also at the tournament along with the Steamboat Sailors. The Flyers posted 2 shutouts during the weekend--one each by goalies Josh Aycock and Ashton Opperman. Way to go Flyers!


Bantam AA Team wins DU Tournament

The Bantam AA team won the DU Oktoberfest Tournament this past weekend.  Having three key players injured, the team banded together and used great teamwork to achieve success. They went 3-0-1 beating Notre Dame prep school from Saskatchewean 2-1 in the championship game. 


Tournament Committee Volunteers

The Tournament committee is in need of volunteers.  If you are interested in being part of the planning process or just helping out during a tournament, please contact LaKay Cecil at tournaments@foothillshockey.org.

 


FHA Free Goalie Clinics

FHA and Jim Kapus will hold goalie specific sessions for each age level.  Please see the Calendar under Blue Ice for dates and times.  Please check back frequently as the times may change.

Curtis Leschyshyn Joins the Flyers Staff

The Foothills Hockey Board of Directors is pleased to announce the addition of Curtis Leschyshyn to the Flyers Hockey Director Staff.

 Curtis’ NHL hockey resume spans over 16 years starting as a 1st round draft pick, 3rd overall in 1988. During his career, Curtis played in 1,033 NHL games. His 16-year NHL career includes a Stanley Cup with the Colorado Avalanche in 1996 and concluded with his retirement from Professional Hockey in 2004.
 
Curtis’ official title with the program will be “Director of Program, Team and Player Development.” FHA is thrilled to have him on board.   Please join us in welcoming Curtis to our Flyer Family.
